ERC News for the week of March 18th – March Madness Half Results

It was great to meet recently joined members at the Ecology Center yesterday. Thank you to Amy Gingold for organizing and everyone who turned out on the nicest weather day of the year for the event.


March Madness Half Results


Congratulations to the 36 ERC runners who tackled the challenging March Madness course yesterday and in a highly competitive field the club achieved a number of age group podium finishes, including:


1st In Age Group: Nancy Werner (F40-44), Nancy Rollins (F40-74), Scott Siegel (M70-74)


2nd In Age Group: Avi Janssen (M45-49), Justin Simard (M30-34)


New member, Justin Simard finished 4th overall in a spectacular time: 1:16:14.


Gear Order Last Chance


Mo has launched the gear order for 2018 ready for the racing season.


You can access details about items and the order form by clicking on the button underneath the calendar on our website's home page (bottom right corner).


Remember this is the only gear order this year – therefore items for all seasons are available.


Not all items may be offered again so don't wait for next year!

Wintervals One Mile Time Trial


The one-mile time trial was the focus of the last week of the Wintervals, providing an opportunity to set a speed baseline as we head into the racing season. A big thank you to Keith Holzmueller for his support throughout the Winter months.


Summervals are starting up soon…watch out for the news updates………



Race Against Hate Registration Is Open – June 17th


The Ricky Brydsong Memorial Race Against Hate is always an ERC favorite and this year is also a CARA circuit race.


The registration site is open – you can sign up for the ERC 5k or 10k team. There is no ERC discount – the proceeds go to a great cause. If you are a CARA member you can use their standard discount.


More details to follow as we get closer to the date.




Half Marathon Training Update


Chuck has volunteered to lead a Half Marathon training group during Saturday Morning Long Runs.


Chuck is personally targeting the Chicagoland Half on May 20th in Schaumburg,…others have alternative races in mind.  Please share your plans with Chuck and we'll do all we can to support your training.

Shamrock Shuffle


The 8k (4.97 miles) Shamrock Shuffle on March 25th – website below


All ERC members are on the ERC CARA circuit team.  You can also be added to one of the ERC teams forming especially for the Shamrock Shuffle (No $ prizes, just bragging rights).  First you must  register for the  race. After registering email  Bill Leiner Once you are on a team you will receive a confirmation email.
